Friends Forever was written for Regina Filippone. We were best friends since elementary school. During our sophomore year in high school, a rumor started that I liked her boyfriend and was trying to steal him away from her. It wasn’t true. I tried desperately to convince her that this was not the case. She wouldn’t believe me. I finally decided to try one last thing to keep our friendship alive…I “confessed,” though I didn't believe I had committed the crime. This whole thing took place right before I moved to St. George, so the whole event was very fresh when I left.
Friends forever
Is how you used to
Sign your letters,
Before.
Then I moved
With most of the hurt
Still between us.
We communicated
In spite of the miles.
The fight we had
I thought
Broke us,
But the distance
Has only grown us
Closer than
Before.
Thanks for the
Time, effort, and love
It took to pull us
Together again.
